To Be Determined

About
Hackathon: "An event that provides the conditions (support, time pressure, hype, tools, resources, teammates, etc) to allow people to expand their knowledge of technology, create new things, build confidence in their abilities, and meet like-minded people, and then to inspire them to continue to be active in technology." - Ari Vaniderstine

We give you 24 hours...

And you create something beautiful.

FAQ

Hackathon? What are we hacking?

The word Hackathon is a combination of the word "Hack" and "marathon". The definition of hack is to create something in a short period of time. A hackathon is a coding competition that's held for college and high school students. Each hackathon is 24-72 hours long. Code Highlands will be about 27 hours long.

Who's allowed to participate?

All High schoolers are welcomed with open arms! If you're a college student, you can help mentor the hackers!

What if I can't code?

Awesome! Code Highlands will be a great place to learn. We'll have a bunch of mentors at your disposal.

What should I bring?

Bring your school ID, laptop, your laptop charger, your cellphone, your cellphone charger, and any hardware you'll be hacking on! Power strips are recommended! If you plan on sleeping a sleeping bag is also recommended!

When can I start Coding?

You can start coding once the Opening Ceremonies are over. You can't start before, because that's cheating, and cheating isn't cool.
